Dear Colleagues and Friends:

welcomeOn behalf of the World Association of Perinatal Medicine (WAPM), we are pleased to invite you to join us in Madrid, from November 3-6, 2015.

This will be the 12th World Congress of Perinatal Medicine, where key opinion leaders, experts in maternal, fetal and neonatal medicine, and related disciplines will share their knowledge, expertise, and new findings in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease in the perinatal period.

We have a very exciting and cutting-edge scientific program, setting this Congress apart from any other. The speakers (faculty) are of international stature, and have been selected because of their scientific contributions and communication skills in transmitting state-of-the-art clinically relevant information.

We intend to cover the major subjects in perinatal medicine, with an emphasis on new developments in Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Neonatology. Our goal is to be the Congress at which exciting new ideas and discoveries which will change the practice of medicine are presented.

The Congress in Madrid will be the convergent point of different cultures, and we hope to promote new relationships, collaboration, and friendship. Our theme this year is to focus on the global concept of maternal and child health – not just on perinatal medicine. We believe that the prediction and prevention of disease begin during pregnancy and the perinatal period; yet, it will affect the family for years to come.

The mission of the Congress is to provide a forum to facilitate the exchange of information. We believe that it is time for innovation in the way we exchange information with each other and our patients. Therefore, we will have a cutting-edge platform for sharing important developments, including intensive use of social media, posted updates, and press activity.

We look forward to seeing you at the 12th World Congress of Perinatal Medicine, and to providing you with an unforgettable scientific and social experience.

Congress President:  Manuel Sánchez Luna
